Cold Pressed Oil(made in chakku/ചക്ക്‌)

Chekku Oil means, during the extraction process the temperature of nuts/seeds are maintained at the room temperature. Temperature can be maintained low only if traditional wooden churner (MaraChekku) is used and extracted by a slow mechanical process. Since the oil is not headed, it retains the natural nutrients, flavor, Color and texture. Consuming this oil is good for our health and over all wellbeing.Traditional chekku consist of a fixed stone bottom and the pestle is made up of a wood called “vagai”.There are other types of chekku where the bottom and the pillar is made of steel. We can pick up fresh, cold-pressed coconut oil.Later, industrialised, refined oils took over the market, but now the wheel seems to have come full circle, with people heading back to the ‘chekku’.
